Fine Jewellery Trends In 2020

last updated at July 8, 2022 | 2 min Read

As the year wraps up, we’re sure you can’t stop thinking about what will the trends be in fine jewellery in the next. Some trends were expected and pretty simple to guess while others have taken us to the edge of our seats. Let’s talk about what trends are expected to pop up in the next year one by one.

Statement choker necklaces are expected to see the hype in 2020. This is one piece of jewellery that looks as graceful with ethnic wear (like a saree or lehenga) as with a high neck sweater with a blazer for work. You can get yourself a studded piece with a mix of colours for the former and a solid coloured one for work. A statement choker necklace is one piece of jewellery that's easy to style yet looks so stylish and chic.

Another interesting trend that we can’t wait to see rollout is a single earring. It goes without saying that a pair of statement earrings do have a huge impact on the way you look but a single one will have more influence. Single earring does the charm only when you are wearing bold designs like chandelier earrings, huge loops, dangles, etc. This trend is something you can sport just like that from what you already have in your stash.

Sphere or the circle in 3D is something you will see here there and everywhere in 2020. From earrings to long necklaces, the ball design is expected to make a lot of appearances.

Link design is quite famous when it comes to bracelets and chains but 2020 is determined to show you some bold options in link designs. They start from collar necklace (12-14 inches) to rope necklaces (36+ inches). You can wear one short necklace or layer them up for a more powerful impact!

Architectural influence and art deco are expected to surface this year. This will let you wear some cool and funky designs in rings, earrings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, etc. Get ready to wear your skyline or your favourite city’s skyline soon. Some brands are famous for replicating the design of Indian Havelis, houses, etc. while others have a collection dedicated to architectural marvel(s) around the globe. This type of jewellery is super funky and great for work or casual outings. What’s interesting to note is these designs would also include geometric patterns which can be super lightweight and apt for daily wear too.

Other designs that you will see in ample are nature-inspired design. It's safe to say that this is a trend that’s here to stay. From different types of leaves to flowers, everything is crafted into jewellery. The mix of gold shades makes great floral jewellery as much as gemstones do. This, being a classic concept, you can already find numerous nature-inspired jewellery designs from lightweight daily wear options to heavy occasional wear designs.

If you find any more interesting trend in fine jewellery in 2020, we would love to read about them in the comments below.
